  • Worked in the concessions department in the Assembly Hall at UIUC, which plays host to Illini basketball games, concerts, plays, musicals, and various other events.
    • Worked with the volunteers at each concession stand making sure their groups had the materials needed to make it through each event.
    • Handled money, provided help to both volunteers and customers, walked several miles every shift, and lifted heavy materials (30 lbs and up) like soda cases, CO2 tanks, oil cans, etc.
    • The job required me to be in good physical condition and deal with people daily who were unfamiliar with the way the concessions department and equipment operated.
    • During major events was responsible for up to four individuals (ages 15-25) and making sure they executed their set-up tasks accordingly. Without proper direction the concession stands would have suffered major organizational issues upon opening.
